Light Therapy for dry eyes with the benefit of anti-aging!

Low Level Light Therapy

LLLT, also called Low Level Light Therapy, Red Light Therapy or photobiomodulation. Celluma light therapy delivers light energy to humans similar to the way plants absorb photons of light produced by the sun. The Celluma device emits a unique combination of distinctly colored LED lights (Blue, Red, Infrared) customized for anti-aging, pain management, hair loss, acne, rosacea, hordeola (styes), chalazia and dry eye treatment. The various colors correspond to the different beneficial wavelengths of light

Studies have shown that low level light therapy can stimulate the body’s cells, activating their own natural processes for healing, rejuvenation and optimal function.

Treatment of MGD Effectiveness of LLLT

Combo Therapy Approach

There are benefits from doing a combination of IPL, LLLT, and manual expression. While IPL treatment offers thermal-based effects, LLLT is athermal, and researchers believe combining these 2 treatments together have an additive effect. These treatments complement each other. The Lumecca-I IPL can treat very close to the lid margin and the CElluma LLLT can treat the entire lid with the eyes closed.

After each Lumecca-I IPL treatment we will administer a 15-30 minute Celluma LLLT treatment. Next we will do an optional manual expression for any meibomian glands that are still obstructed. Patients are treated every month for 4 consecutive months. All procedures are well tolerated and safe with little to no downtime for the patient. The results are overwhelmingly beneficial and effective, with life-changing results for many patients. We are excited to offer these innovative and powerful technologies to combat dry eye disease (DED).
